How do you detect and secure my vulnerable accounts?
We continuously monitor for data breaches, including your data, and in the event of a data breach, we will notify you immediately. We can detect if your leaked data is associated with 180+ platforms, and depending on the severity of the breach, we can automatically contact those platforms on your behalf to report the incident and request that your accounts be secured against unauthorized access until you can update your passwords and add MFA to your accounts.

What are Data Brokers and How Do You Prevent Them from Selling My Data?
Data brokers are organizations that collect your personal information from various sources and sell it to third parties. Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada, individuals have the right to access, correct, and request the deletion of their personal information collected by organizations. We will submit deletion requests for your data, and data brokers are required to comply with these requests under the act. We also apply the CCPA, Articles 7(3), 17 and 21 of GDPR and other applicable privacy legislation to enforce deletion requests and secure your data.

How do you interfere with hackers’ ability to host and share my data?
Hackers host and share stolen data through third-party content hosting providers. Many of these are legitimate providers (Google, Dropbox, etc.) and they just aren’t aware of the illicit nature of the data being shared. When possible, we will report the data and request that it be removed. We also request removal of your data from ‘OSINT’ (open-source intelligence) websites, which are frequently used by cybercriminals to gather information for attacks. These websites are required to comply with deletion requests under PIPEDA or face actions and penalties by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).
